Australian skipper Pat Cummins let his frustrations out as he tried to review a decision of the third umpire at the start of Day 4 of the fourth Test against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday (December 29). (Match Blog | More Cricket News)

The incident took place as Cummins tried to review a Mohammed Siraj dismissal that had already been adjudged not out through an umpire review when he edged a delivery to Steve Smith at slip.

The on-field umpires referred the claimed catch to the tv umpire who felt that the ball bounced after hitting Siraj’s bat.

The Australian skipper, however, signalled DRS, asking for the call to be reviewed again.

Earlier in the match, a raucous crowd gave the Chinese players full support as they faced a formidable Pakistan. The game started slow with both teams struggling to find space in each other's defence. However, China kept control of the ball and made more attacks than Pakistan.

The incident left experts Adam Gilchrist and Ravi Shastri stunned.

"This is very interesting. I have never seen this before. He is saying, 'You, as umpires, took it upstairs on your own behalf, but I want to review the decision.' I do think it needs to be looked at very closely," Gilchrist said on air.

The umpire said I've seen the ball bounce after it hit the bat. That was a very quick call, a very quick call, just two replays," Shastri said.

The decision, however, had very little impact as Nathan Lyon picked up the final wicket shortly.

India finished their innings for 369 for the loss of 10 wickets in 119.3 oversslot paraiso, with Pat Cummins, Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon taking three wickets each.
