MANILAbalato8, Philippines — The Pasig River Ferry will be closed on certain days during the holiday season, announced its operator Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
The ferry will not run on Dec. 24, 25, 30 and Jan. 1, 2025, being public holidays, the MMDA said in its advisory.
mbo303 slotThe ferry will run for only half a day on Dec. 31, 2024, a special non-working holiday.
They are also joined by Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr., Deputy Speaker David “Jay-jay” Suarez and Committee on Transportation chair Romeo Acop.
“We trust your office will prioritize this matter and act swiftly to protect the integrity of our nation’s legal and economic systems,” the lawmakers said in a statement.
Normal ferry service to its stations along the Pasig River in the cities of Manila, Makati, Mandaluyong and Pasig will be implemented on Dec. 23, 26, 27 and 28.
The MMDA has yet to announce if the ferry will remain free of charge for passengers in 2025. No fare was charged to riders since the system was launched in December 2019.balato8
